The tours are suitable for small children and active older generation alike. No need to worry about swimming and water trekking!

What to know about Chechem Ha Cave tour?

Chechem Ha is a dry cave found alongside one of the many hills of the Maya Mountains. The hike involves a 40min walk through open fields and into lush tropical forest hiking along rugged single track switch back trail to the opening. Archeological research concludes Chechem Ha was used during the early pre-classic and classic era. Large collections of ancient ceremonial artifacts found throughout the cave have made this cave tour a pleasant and interesting discovery, including the unearthing of chocolate in early underground rituals.

What are our Vaca Forest Reserve trails & highlights?

The Vaca Forest Reserve is a slice of Belize’s large, protected jungles and ecosystems with secret waterfalls and sandy river beaches. It’s an excellent location for birding, hiking, swimming or just exploring and enjoying. Within the reserve are major developments like the Vaca and Mojellon Dams which source a percentage of the country’s power supply. The area is rich in biodiversity, small farms, retirement homes as well as wilderness corridors, brands the Vaca Forest Reserve an easily accessible and exciting region to explore.

Where are we located, we sit above Vaca falls ridge a historical launch site for logs into the Macal River during the logging and locomotive era of Belize and adjacent the Vaca Dam.  Discover the Maya Mountains at Vaca Outpost, spectacular views of the Elijio Panti National Park, the Upper and lower Macal River canyon, and the newly erected Vaca Dam Hydro Power Plant. The town of Benque Viejo is the nearest town to us. And a handsome one hour away from San Ignacio.

We would be delighted to share our rainforest lifestyle with you!
